It's time again for the Alexandria Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. to celebrate literacy and Dr. Seuss's Birthday! Nu Xi Zeta celebrates Read Across America Day with a fun and information filled event that includes guest readers, hands-on activities and prizes for children and a brief presentation about early literacy.
Read Across America is a national day celebrating reading created by the National Education Association along with many of the country's leading literacy and youth groups to motivate children to read and generate new enthusiasm for reading.

At this event we will honor our 2012 Women of the Year award recipient, Ms. Tina Hone (former Fairfax County school board member), present a scholarship to an Alexandria or Arlington high school senior, and honor the United Minority Girls program at Wakefield High School in Arlington, VA.
