Purpose: The purpose of the program is to rekindle the lost art of literature. Recently, it seems as if the community has replaced reading with television, the internet, and movies. Nu Xi Zeta would like to recognize the importance of literature by hosting their First Annual Spring Luncheon. The luncheon will honor local author and breast cancer survivor Maimah Karmo, author of How Breast Cancer Saved My Life: Turning a Challenge into a Gift. To further emphasize literary achievement amongst our youth, our Spring Scholarship Essay recipient will be recognized.
